Communications Committee

The Communications Committee's role is to provide information to council members and promote PESC events to Purdue students and the community. The Communications Committee is divided into three main sections:

Public Relations works to encourage student involvement by promoting PESC activities. The members working in Public Relations are in charge of publicizing all events targeted at Purdue students. Advertising is accomplished through the use of fliers, posters, chalking, banners, television, radio, and newspaper.

Information Technology is responsible for the entire organization's computing and software needs. Members on IT work in various areas include web design, network administration, software development, and computer maintenance. IT has the responsibility of ensuring that everyone has the necessary tools to accomplish their goals. IT is also in charge of photographing and video taping activities, to keep a record of PESC events.

Publications handles jobs both for the Communications committee and for other committees as well. The Communications committee produces the Freshman Pamphlet, an informative resource for freshmen engineers with facts about Purdue, engineering majors, and other things on campus. The committee also produces the Cadence, an internal newsletter that is sent to all PESC alumni. Publications also handles jobs for other committees on council, such as the IR guidebooks and resume books.
