(Inspiring the Development of Engineering Aspects in Students)
Who:
Elementary students in fourth and fifth grades. Parents and teachers are invited and encouraged to attend along with the students.
Why:
To foster students' interest in science and engineering by allowing them to investigate everyday phenomena.
When:
Saturday, March 27th, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Where:
Purdue University, West Lafayette
Cost:
Free -- Lunch will be provided for everyone who attends, and students will receive a T-shirt to remember the day.
What's Happening:
Many hands-on experiments are planned for the day. The students will have the opportunity to visit five stations dealing with various aspects of engineering. Parents and teachers can tour the Purdue campus, learn more about the experiments the kids are doing, and have the opportunity to talk to current engineering students.
Other Important Information:
Lunch will be provided, so it is essential that you give us a correct count of students and adults who will be attending. If any students or adults require a special diet, we ask that you let us know ahead of time so that accommodations can be made.
Once we have received the registration form, we will send a confirmation packet to each student that includes directions to the Purdue campus, parking instructions, and a finalized agenda.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the Purdue Engineering Student Council office at (765) 496-2660. We are looking forward to seeing you on March 27th, 2009!
